If I had to choose a character from the Outsiders to be my friend, I would pick Ponyboy. I would pick Ponyboy because he and I are alike. Both of us enjoy reading, enjoy school, and are both the youngest in our families. Also, he seems a lot kinder than the rest of the Greasers. If I had to be friends with anyone from the Outsiders, it would be him. I agree that he would be a good friend! ~Mrs. Best

I would probably be feeling guilty afterwords because I had just killed someone. Even though I did kill him I would keep reminding myself I was defending Ponyboy, and without that action we could be dead. I probably would have run because I would be scared of going to jail. I would get out of town as fast as possible. That's what I would do if I was Johnny.
I don't think running and hiding is a very good idea. How long can that last. It is always important to have trusted adults in your life, and they would be able to help in a situation that is overwhelming for a teen. ~Mrs. Best

I agree with you I would run away as fast as possible in-till things cooled down. I would also feel guilty because I killed someone and would receive the electric chair which would be scary. I would remind myself it was self-defense which is okay in some situations if they were trying to kill someone. I am so glad that didn't happen to me. Talk to you later.
B. Explain what Ponyboy finds out about Randy and the other Socs at the end of Chapter 7.
Ponyboy finds out at the end of the chapter from Randy is very important. He learns that fighting is not going to solve the problems between the Greasers and the Socs. He learns that if the Greasers win the Socs would forget about it, and if the Greasers win they wouldn't care. He learns that fighting can't solve problems and can only make things worse. He also learns that Bob wasn't always a bad guy. He leans that Randy and Bob were best friends, and that Bob's parents spoiled him to much. He learns that Randy believes that if Bob's parents would have been harder on him he would still be alive. He also figures out what Cherry meant when she said,"Things are rough all over." I got my info from pages 115-118.

A. When we get to know people better, we usually like them more. If that's true, what could we do if we really don't like someone?
If you don't like a person, sometimes it takes getting to know them better to like them. If you get to know them more you can become friends. You can get to know them better by hanging out at home or at school, and just talk every so often. I can't garentee you will like each other, but at least you tried. That's what you can do to help increase your friendship with them.
